2026 World Cup tickets: FIFA announces sales timeline for USA, Canada, and Mexico tournament
The FIFA 2026 World Cup is already generating excitement among soccer fans, as the tournament will be hosted across three countries— the United States, Canada, and Mexico— for the first time in the event’s history. With less than a year to go until kickoff, FIFA has announced when tickets will become available.
This edition of the tournament marks the debut of the expanded World Cup format, featuring 48 national teams competing for one of the most prestigious trophies in sports. Sixteen host cities and stadiums across North America will welcome fans from around the globe, eager to watch their teams in action.
On Monday, FIFA confirmed that 2026 World Cup tickets will be released in phases, rather than all at once, as many nations are still in the qualification process. The first application window for the ticket draw will open on Wednesday, September 10, giving fans less than two months to prepare for their chance to purchase.
“Following the incredible success of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, excitement is reaching new heights for the FIFA World Cup 26. We’re looking forward to welcoming the world back to North America, as Canada, Mexico and the United States host what will be the biggest and greatest sporting event ever,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino via the organization’s official website.
The tournament is set to kick off on June 11, 2026, with the final scheduled to be played at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey on July 19. To purchase tickets or receive notifications when they go on sale, fans must create a FIFA ID through the organization’s official website.
FIFA opens hospitality experience
With more than 100 matches scheduled across the three host nations, the 2026 World Cup promises to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience for soccer fans. While general ticket sales have not yet begun, FIFA has already launched its hospitality packages.
Options include the Single Match experience—starting at $1,350 per person—which allows fans to select and attend one game of their choice. The Venue Series offers access to all matches at a selected stadium, starting at $8,275 per person. Finally, the Follow My Team package lets fans follow their favorite national team through the group stage, regardless of venue, starting at $6,750 per person.
