Man United receive fresh boost in efforts to offload outcast after Rashford deal

0 3

Manchester United are gradually making progress in their bid to offload their ‘bomb squad’, consisting of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho.

An agreement has been reached for the loan transfer of Rashford to Spanish giants Barcelona, and the English forward is already in Spain to complete the move.

There are now new developments regarding the exit of Sancho.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus now have the funds to seal a move for the England international following the departure of Samuel Mbangula and Timothy Weah.

Mbangula is set to join Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen, with the deal expected to be closed today. Juventus will receive €13 million (including bonuses) for the sale of the Belgian youngster.

Likewise, Weah could seal a loan move with an obligation to buy for €15m to Ligue 1 giants Marseille today.

Tuttosport reports that the departure of Mbangula and Weah would allow Juventus to accelerate their interest in Sancho.

Despite the imminent signing of Francisco Conceicao, the Old Lady are ready to step up their interest in the Man United forward.

They ‘have an agreement in principle’ with United and are ‘discussing a multi-year contract with the player, starting at around €6 million per year’.

However, Sancho is demanding a severance package to leave United, which is stalling the deal’s progress.

To resolve the situation, Juventus are ready to pay a portion of the severance package to facilitate the move of the former Manchester City youth prospect to the club.

United could recoup as much as €25m from the sale of Sancho, and their wage bill will be significantly reduced with his exit.

The funds and wages freed from his and Rashford’s departure will help the Red Devils’ quest to strengthen their squad further in this transfer window.
