Red Sox’s Alex Cora Makes Impromptu Call Live On ESPN
Anything can happen on live TV.
Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora, for example, made an impromptu phone call to ESPN’s Karl Ravich while he was in the middle of broadcasting the Detroit Tigers’ victory over the Texas Rangers on “Sunday Night Baseball.”
Ravich, being the instigator he is, referenced the fact that Cora was in attendance at the viral Coldplay concert last week at Gillette Stadium. Cora clearly wanted to contribute to the conversation during the broadcast and called his former partner before being hung up on.
“I’m trying to do a live broadcast,” Ravich told Cora, while keeping his headset on. “I can’t hear you, I have a headset on. Alex hung up.”
Cora was presumable in his hotel room in Philadelphia, where the club is set to start a three-game series with the Phillies on Monday, which makes the whole thing that much funnier.
