Man United confirm loan exit of starlet who made debut under Erik ten Hag
Manchester United have officially confirmed the temporary departure of one of their most promising academy graduates.
Dan Gore has completed a second successive loan move to Rotherham United and is set to spend the 2025/26 season with the Millers.
This marks Gore’s third loan stint away from Old Trafford as he looks to gain valuable first-team experience.
The 20-year-old has had a rotten luck with injuries over the last two seasons.
He joined Port Vale in January 2023 but was restricted to just one appearance before an injury abruptly ended his loan spell.
His start to the last campaign was delayed due to a freak shoulder injury.
He joined Rotherham in January but made three appearances due to fitness issues.
Gore suffered a hairline foot fracture and underwent rehabilitation at Carrington.
The young midfielder made his senior debut for United under Erik ten Hag against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup in September 2023.
He made his Premier League bow against Crystal Palace on Boxing Day 2023.
Once considered neck-and-neck with fellow midfielder Toby Collyer, Gore now finds himself playing catch-up in the pecking order.
Onus will be on Gore to remain fit and impress with his performances at Rotherham.
There is no doubt that he is a highly promising midfielder but availability is the biggest qualtiy one can offer.
A regular run of games at Rotherham could be just what he needs to reignite his career and remind Ruben Amorim of the potential that once lit up the academy.
