Next Red Sox All-Star? Roman Anthony Has Huge Hopes For Future

Boston Red Sox rookie Roman Anthony has lofty goals for next year… and every year after that.

It’s All-Star or bust for baseball’s top prospect.

Anthony, who had just 31 games of experience under his belt prior to the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, has familiarity with the glitz and glamour that goes into the weekend-long event every season. Anthony took part in the minor league portion in 2024, and has a strong desire to return as a major leaguer.

“That experience was motivating as a prospect,” Anthony told Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. “You see all the guys there, and that’s the goal. Every year I want to be there as a big leaguer. Hopefully, my next All-Star breaks in my career, I won’t have to worry about where I’m going or what I’m doing or who I’m hanging out with. Hopefully it’ll be with a bunch of All-Stars.”

It’s not far-fetched to expect that he’ll be voted into the game at some point in the near future, as pointed out by Speier.

Adley Rutschman (2022), Riley Greene (2022), Gunnar Henderson (2022-23), Jackson Chourio (2023), Elly De La Cruz (2023), Jackson Holliday (2023-24), Paul Skenes (2024), James Wood (2024), and Junior Caminero (2024) are the last nine players to achieve top prospect status, and all but Chourio and Holliday have already been named All-Stars

Anthony should want to be next, and very well could be.

It’s probably a nice bonus that he won’t have to worry about weird undercover videos being taken of him during his free time, either.
