Ceddanne Rafaela Drops Simple Eight-Word Message After Latest Heroics
The Boston Red Sox stayed hot in their final game before the All-Star break on Sunday, picking up a 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays to complete a four-game sweep over their division rival. The win was also the Red Sox’s 10th straight, and in what is becoming a common theme, Ceddanne Rafaela starred yet again for Boston.
After a slow start to the season, Rafaela has been on an absolute heater for the Red Sox as of late. On Sunday, he hit a clutch two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Boston a three-run lead that their bullpen would not relinquish.
In his past 15 games, Rafaela has been arguably the hottest hitter on the planet. With his latest big outing in the books, Rafaela is hitting .375 during this stretch with six home runs and 18 RBIs. In the process, he’s raised his batting average on the season a whopping 21 points.
With the Sox rattling off their best win streak since their World Series season in 2018, the vibes are high surrounding this team. Considering all the drama that has surrounded this team throughout the year, it’s safe to say winning cures all, and that was something Rafaela echoed with a simple message after this win.
“Yeah, it’s nice, man. It’s nice to win,” Rafaela said during an on-field interview in the immediate aftermath of Boston’s 10th straight victory.
Rafaela seems to be blossoming into a star in real time. While his late All-Star push fell short, if he keeps playing like he has been as of late, he could become a perennial All-Star in the near future.
Rafaela may not have made the cut, but Boston still had three All-Stars this season, with Garrett Crochet, Alex Bregman, and Aroldis Chapman being selected to the American League team. It’s the contributions they are receiving elsewhere, though, that have fueled their sudden run.
The Red Sox will be eager to return from the All-Star break as soon as possible, as they will be looking to extend their current winning streak. Boston will return to action on Friday when it opens a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs.
