Man Utd should now sign 23yo Belgian star after pre-season injury, he can depart for £30m

0 3

Manchester United should pursue a deal for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens this summer.

The Red Devils are likely to continue their spending in the coming weeks and could be compelled to sign a new shot-stopper.

Andre Onana recently picked up a hamstring injury in pre-season training, and he could be on the sidelines for eight weeks.

Altay Bayindir is the immediate deputy to the Cameroonian, but the Turkish ace has been unconvincing with the ball at his feet.

Manager Ruben Amorim may want an upgrade, and we believe the club should swoop for Antwerp sensation Lammens.

The Red Devils have already scouted the highly rated 23-year-old, and he has the credentials to become an elite goalkeeper.

Lammens made a sensational 4.3 saves per league game last season with a success rate of 77 percent.

He had a sensational xGOT (goal prevented) of 15.57. He made several outstanding stops for Antwerp throughout the previous top flight campaign.

Lammens also averaged 26 passes per outing with 7.4 long balls. He saved four out of eight penalties in the Belgian Pro League, keeping nine clean sheets.

The Belgian clearly has immense potential, and Antwerp are looking for £30 million to sell him during the summer transfer window.

In our view, the Red Devils could convince Antwerp with a fixed package of £20m, with the remaining £10m in performance add-ons.

After Onana’s injury, it appears a no-brainer decision for United to pursue a deal for Lammens, who could become the permanent no.1.

The Red Devils need to be proactive in the pursuit, given Aston Villa are also admirers of Lammens. He could be Emiliano Martinez’s successor.
