President Donald Trump Posts About Red Sox Amid Winning Streak
The Boston Red Sox have the attention of President Donald Trump.
Yes, I am being serious.
Trump, who hosted the team at the Oval Office prior to their series with the Washington Nationals on July 3, evidently has been keeping tabs ever since, dropping a post about their recent winning streak on the social media app Truth Social.
“They haven’t lost since they saw me in the Oval,” Trump’s post read. “8 wins in a row!”
I’d like to take this time to share that correlation does not imply causation. Aristotle, Spearman and Hume all taught us that, so keep it in mind if you decide to start telling people that these two things have anything to do with one another. Alex Cora, Ceddanne Rafaela and Garrett Crochet, who had pretty big hands in the winning streak, also didn’t attend the meeting, for further proof that they’re completely coincidental.
The Red Sox took an official visit to the White House in May 2019 after winning the 2018 World Series, but lost seven games over the next two weeks.
