Donnarumma contract dispute at PSG has Chelsea and Man Utd on alert
Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is increasingly in doubt over a new contract, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City interested.
The goalkeeper had left Milan as a free agent in 2021 and is now into the final year of his contract in Paris too.
Donnarumma has no shortage of suitors
According to L’Equipe, the Nazionale star has made it clear he intends to maintain the same salary if he is to be given a new deal, especially after helping them win the Champions League.
Instead, the club has offered him an arrangement where up to a third of his wages would be calculated based on how many games are played, amongst other things.
This could significantly reduce his salary and encourage coach Luis Enrique to create more competition between goalkeepers for playing time.
L’Equipe point out that Donnarumma gives his priority to an extension at Paris Saint-Germain, but also has no shortage of alternatives, especially from the Premier League with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United all showing interest.
In Italy, there had been reports of Juventus or even Milan’s rivals Inter making an approach.
