It emerged shortly after that Tottenham would need to meet a £60 million valuation to prise the midfielder away from Nottingham Forest, where he has been a standout performer since arriving from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
A fresh report from The Telegraph has now confirmed that Tottenham have officially triggered Gibbs-White’s £60 million release clause, with the 25-year-old Englishman expected to undergo his medical at the club tomorrow.
Fabrizio Romano has even given his here we go seal of approval to the Gibbs-White to Spurs deal, confirming all that has been reported in the last few hours.
Spurs fans await official double unveiling
Tottenham are yet to officially unveil Mohammed Kudus, and should that not be completed by the end of today, there is a strong possibility that the club could present both players in a joint announcement.
These two deals would likely go down well with Spurs supporters, especially given that reports suggest Kudus was only interested in joining Tottenham, while Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Gibbs-White is fully open to making the switch to north London.
It now remains to be seen whether these moves will be enough to awaken a sleeping giant, following a dreadful Premier League campaign last season, which saw Tottenham finish in 17th place.
