Official: Frattesi goes under the knife to resolve injury
Inter and Italy midfielder Davide Frattesi has successfully undergone surgery to resolve a bilateral sports hernia.
The player had stated he was struggling with a recurring problem in the last few months of the season and was unable to participate in any of the FIFA Club World Cup games, despite flying to America to work with new coach Cristian Chivu.
Frattesi and the club medical staff had agreed to postpone the operation until the end of the season, hoping that he could recover during the summer and be ready for pre-season training.
According to various reports, he is expected to be out of action for circa a month.
Frattesi ready to start fresh with Inter
The arrival of new coach Chivu and this surgery too should act as a reboot for his Inter career, which had been faltering as a super-sub under previous boss Simone Inzaghi.
He still provided crucial goals, above all in the Champions League against Bayern Munich and Barcelona, but rarely received regular starts in the Nerazzurri side.
