Man Utd have now joined race to sign 25-goal striker with €52m clause - report
Manchester United are poised to make multiple signings to bolster the forward department.
The Red Devils have already strengthened their attack with the purchase of Matheus Cunha.
Talks are also ongoing with Brentford over the potential transfer of Bryan Mbeumo.
Corriere Fiorentino (page 1) now claim that United are in the mix to sign Fiorentina’s Moise Kean.
The Red Devils have ‘renewed interest’ in the Italian striker, but they could face competition from Galatasaray and Napoli for his services.
The 25-year-old has a €52 million release clause on his contract, which expires on July 15.
Moise Kean speculation could be agent-driven
Kean had an impressive debut campaign with Fiorentina. He registered 25 goals from just 44 appearances in all competitions at the Serie A outfit.
He has been tipped to pursue a bigger challenge away from Florence, but we are not convinced that United are exploring a deal for the Italian.
Despite Kean’s fabulous season, his previous record in the Premier League is a potential red flag.
The Juventus graduate scored just two goals from 32 outings for Everton earlier in his career.
He struggled to cope with the intensity and physicality of the league, and eventually chose to return to Juventus, where he was likewise disappointing.
He managed just 14 goals from 102 games in his second stint at the Bianconeri before his move to Fiorentina, where he has changed his fortunes.
In our view, United are unlikely to pursue a deal for Kean based on just one campaign. He was guilty of missing a staggering 34 big chances last season.
Kean was not good with his distribution either. We believe the speculation is agent-driven to secure him a big club move before his buy-out clause expires.
