Ady Pennock expands backroom team with an eye on the future
DFC is delighted to announce the appointment of a new addition and role to the backroom team – Steve Miller, Head of Scouting.
Steve, 41, will split his time between Princes Park and scouting matches through the non-league steps and will also be bringing on board some volunteer scouts to build up a database of players that can be tapped into.
His first foray in football was running a football agency, looking after players in the professional league and non-league tiers.
From here, he took a role as head of recruitment at Margate, before spending two years in a full-time role at Ramsgate as Commercial Manager and Head of Recruitment.
A change of management at Ramsgate led to him taking a position at Folkestone last season, also as Head of Recruitment.
He said: “I knew Roland and had a good relationship with Ady and the opportunity to join them arose. Dartford is a massive club and I’m really looking forward to getting more involved.
“I really enjoyed my time at Margate and Ramsgate and learnt a lot about the different levels. Probably not many people have watched more Step 3 and Step 4 matches than me.
“I have been around football a long time and now it’s about enjoyment for me. I’m hoping to be part of a successful Club and help Dartford move up divisions.
“The Club has great facilities. Not many clubs at this level have a 4G pitch on their grounds. It’s also in a great position for travelling and has a great structure to it.
“Ady has given me a list of profiles and positions he is looking for and I will be regularly meeting him to discuss the players I think fit.”
Ady Pennock said: “I’m delighted to get Steve on board. I’m trying to put the foundations in place to help the Club move forward and this is part of that process.
“He’s a very experienced scout in non-league and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
