There is plenty going on at Easter Road ahead of our historic 150th Anniversary match with Rot-Weiss Essen – including special merchandise, fanzones and the unveiling of the brand new Pat Stanton Stand!
The Hibees host German side Rot-Weiss Essen, recreating the iconic fixture from 70 years ago when Hibs became the first British team to play competitively in Europe.
To celebrate the milestone, we have numerous activations planned for supporters on matchday!
The Pat Stanton Stand Unveiling
The East Stand will be officially unveiled as the Pat Stanton Stand ahead of kick-off, honouring one of Hibernian FC’s greatest ever players and role models.
Supporters are asked to arrive in plenty of time for the special unveiling to celebrate Pat’s tremendous achievement.
Pat Stanton Stand Fanzone
A pop-up fanzone supported by Tennent’s will open outside the Pat Stanton Stand for our 150th anniversary celebration fixture against Rot-Weiss Essen!
Open from 3.30pm on Wednesday 9 July, the Pat Stanton Stand fanzone will be free to enter for supporters attending our first home match of the 2025/26 season.
Featuring a card bar supported by Tennent’s, street food available to purchase, live DJ, Kids Zone and picnic table area, our fanzone has something for everyone.
Special Commemorative Scarf
Supporters can purchase a special one-off scarf celebrating both Hibernian & Rot-Weiss Essen! The scarf has been created specifically to recognise this historic game and is on sale at the Club shop right up until kick-off.

Celebrate 150 years of Hibernian FC with the exclusive Hibernian FC vs Rot-Weiss Essen 150th Anniversary Match Coin.
This limited-edition collectable commemorates the historic friendly match at Easter Road on July 9, 2025, marking the 70th anniversary of Hibs’ pioneering clash against Rot-Weiss Essen in the inaugural European Cup of 1955.

Our brand new 2025/26 kit is on sale from 10am on Wednesday 9 July right up until kick-off. Available online and from our Club Store, we will also have a pop-up merchandise shop at our Pat Stanton Stand Fanzone.

The independent Hibernian Supporters Matchday Programme will be available for supporters to buy ahead of our 150th anniversary celebration fixture. Available from the Club Store, outside the West and Pat Stanton Stand, and at our Pat Stanton Stand fanzone, get your copy for just £2 as a souvenir!

Finally, tickets for the match are available to purchase online or from the Ticket Office right up until kick-off!
