Man United wantaway star receives blow in bid to leave Old Trafford

0 1

Forward Jadon Sancho has told Manchester United that he wants to leave the club this summer.

He had the chance to move permanently to Chelsea after spending a season-long loan with the London outfit, but could not agree personal terms with them.

Juventus have now been heavily linked with him as the club wants to sign a winger.

However, the Italian giants are prioritising a move for Portugal international Francisco Conceicao over Sancho, according to Sky in Italy.

Conceicao is on loan with the Old Lady. He has provided seven goals, including two in the Club World Cup, and six assists in 40 games.

Juventus are working on signing the Portuguese permanently, but face a hurdle in meeting his valuation.

Conceicao’s £25.8 million valuation is divided between Porto, who takes 70 percent of the fee, the player, who has 20 percent, and his agent Jorge Mendes, who owns 10 percent.

None of the three parties involved are ready to reduce their share of the fee, making the completion of the deal challenging for the Italian outfit.

Sancho could still join Juventus ahead of Conceicao

Given the difficulty of securing the move for the Porto forward, Juventus are pursuing a deal with Sancho as an alternative.

The Italian outfit have already stepped up their interest in Sancho. They are £4m short of Man United’s asking price for the winger.

They would likely negotiate the fee further with United and could seal a move this week.

The Red Devils need to dispose of Sancho permanently to generate funds and clear their wage bill.

Meanwhile, he has been given permission to return for pre-season late alongside Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia, allowing them time to secure a move away from Old Trafford.

The club’s pre-season preparation started yesterday with 15 players spotted at Carrington, including new signings Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon.
