Inter consider move for Chelsea forward after Correa and Arnautovic departures

0 0

Reports in Italy claim that Inter are interested in a potential deal with Chelsea for forward Christopher Nkunku as the Nerazzurri look to rebuild their attacking department.

The Nerazzurri, who typically played with two strikers under Simone Inzaghi, have parted ways with Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic this summer upon the expiry of their respective contracts.

Reports suggest that Mehdi Taremi, who joined the club last summer, will also be allowed to leave if an appropriate offer comes in. If that were to be the case, then Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez would be the only two senior centre-forwards from the 2024-25 season still on the club’s books.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter are keen on bringing in a new forward who offers something slightly different to the strikers they already have in their squad.

Tuesday evening’s update claims that Chelsea’s Nkunku is among the potential options for Cristian Chivu’s side this summer.

The 14-time France international joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in a €60m deal in 2023 and remains under contract for another four years, until the summer of 2029.
