NBA Rumors: Bradley Beal Has ‘Thought About’ These Teams As Buyout Looms
While a buyout of Bradley Beal is a bit complex, the likelihood remains the three-time NBA All-Star won’t play for the Phoenix Suns next season.
And that’s prompted Beal to think about his next landing spot.
“According to a league source, the list of teams Beal has thought about includes the LA Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks,” The Athletic’s Fred Katz wrote Monday.
One team not included in that foursome? The Boston Celtics.
The Celtics were thought to be in play given Beal’s close friendship with fellow St. Louis native Jayson Tatum. However, Tatum will miss most, if not all, the 2025-26 campaign as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles hindering their chance to play together.

Boston’s financial standing also could prevent the C’s from making a push for the 32-year-old guard. The Celtics traded Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers and Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks in cost-cutting moves. Boston dipped below the second apron of the luxury tax with the Porzingis trade, but more moves are expected to be made.
Adding the soon-to-be free agent Beal, given his situation is a bit different than fellow buyout candidate Damian Lillard (as Katz explained here), might not be in play for Boston. Or, according to the latest report, Beal himself.
