Celtics’ Top Pick Headlines Official Summer League Roster

The Boston Celtics have announced which players they’ll be taking to Las Vegas to compete in the Summer League.

Boston will be represented by three members of the active roster, three presumptive two-way players, all three recent draft picks and a couple of familiar names looking to latch onto a roster spot.

Baylor Scheierman and Jordan Walsh will both return from last year’s squad, and will be joined by this year’s first-round pick, Hugo González. Amari Williams and Max Shulga, the club’s two second-round picks, will also be there.

The Celtics will also bring guards Hayden Gray (who led college basketball in steals last year), Kendall Brown (who spent multiple seasons with the Indiana Pacers) and Isaiah Wong (who most recently played with Žalgiris Kaunas of the EuroLeague), wings Miles Norrs (an active roster member), Jalen Bridges (who was on a two-way contract with the Phoenix Suns last year), Zach Hicks (a recent graduate of Penn State) and Aaron Scott (who recently played under Rick Pitino at St. John’s), and bigs Kenneth Lofton Jr (who was recently named MVP of the Chinese Basketball Association) and Ben Gregg (who just signed a contract to play professionally in France).

Matt Reynolds, an assistant who has been with the club for three seasons, was appointed head coach.

The C’s will face the Grizzlies (July 11 at 4 p.m. ET), Knicks (July 13 at 5:30 p.m. ET), Heat (July 14 at 8 p.m. ET) and Lakers (July 17 at 9 p.m. ET), before potentially taking part in a fifth game for the exhibition’s championship.
