20-goal Man Utd transfer target "frustrated", INEOS must act fast

Manchester United have made little progress in the transfer window this summer.

After announcing the signing of Matheus Cunha on the first day of the window, Man United have failed to recruit another key first-team player.

Diego Leon has moved to Old Trafford but the teenager is initially expected to play for the youth set-up.

The Red Devils have a keen interest in signing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo but are yet to reach an agreement on the transfer fee.

According to The Standard, Mbeumo is “growing increasingly frustrated” as the negotiations have taken more than a month now.

He has “made clear he wants to move to Old Trafford” but is waiting for United to meet Brentford’s valuation.

The Red Devils have seen their two bids turned down by Brentford, with their latest offer worth £55 million and £7.5m in add-ons.

The Bees are demanding a fee in excess of £63m.

The summer transfers of Cunha and Anthony Elanga have further bolstered their negotiation power.

Noni Madueke is also edging closer to a move to Arsenal with Chelsea valuing him at more than £50m.

Brentford director of football Phil Giles has made it clear that they will sell him only for the right price.

United have already kicked off their pre-season preparations under manager Ruben Amorim.

They must speed up their pursuit of Mbeumo and back Amorim.

With Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho up for sale, the Portuguese head coach lacks the firepower needed to thrive in the Premier League.

Mbeumo bagged 20 goals and eight assists last season and will boost the quality of United’s attack.
