25 Players In A Championship Squad - Still Spaces?

Current Squad Rules

Squad Size:
Championship: 25 players

Under-21 Players: Players under the age of 21 as of January 1st of the current season are not counted towards the squad limit. For the 2024/25 season, this means players born on or after January 1, 2003.

A minimum of eight players in the 25-man squad (Championship) Homegrown players are defined as those registered with any English or Welsh club for at least three seasons before their 21st birthday, regardless of their nationality.

A maximum of five loan players can be named in the matchday squad.
This limit can be reduced to four if one of the loan players is an emergency goalkeeper.
All loan players, regardless of age, must be included in the squad list.
