First Calhanoglu bid of 17m rejected as Galatasaray talks in full swing
According to Sport Mediaset, the opening Galatasaray offer for Hakan Calhanoglu was €17m, considered far too low by Inter.
Multiple sources noted this morning that the negotiations have finally started between the two clubs, after weeks of speculation that the midfielder was pushing for this transfer.
This created a great deal of tension between Calhanoglu and his teammates, above all Lautaro Martinez, who openly criticised him for showing a lack of commitment.
Inter not willing to let Calhanoglu go cheap
While Inter would let him leave, they also want to receive a figure that fits his transfer value, especially considering his contract runs to June 2027.
Now Sport Mediaset transfer pundit Orazio Accomando reports that the opening bid from Galatasaray is worth €17m.
That is a very long way off the €30-35m asking price for the 31-year-old.
While clubs like Al-Hilal coached by Simone Inzaghi and others in the Premier League would be prepared to pay a lot more, Calhanoglu has his heart set on joining the club he always supported.
