Inter hope Carboni can be used in swap deal for De Winter
Inter could use striker Valentin Carboni as part of an exchange deal for Genoa defender Koni De Winter, claims La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It is no secret that former Juventus defender De Winter is a target for several clubs inside Italy and abroad, but the Nerazzurri hope to have a secret weapon.
The asking price for the centre-back is €30m, but that could be cut down significantly with an intriguing offer.
Carboni can be the key to De Winter
There are reports that they could propose Argentina international Carboni to Genoa in a swap deal with multiple complex clauses.
It would therefore be a loan with option for Genoa to buy at the end of the season, with Inter keeping a counter-option to bring him back to base.
Carboni turned 20 in March and already has three senior caps for Argentina under his belt.
He had moved to Olympique Marseille last summer on loan with an option to buy, but that was cut cruelly short by a torn anterior cruciate ligament in October 2024.
