Serie A: Best XI of available free agents in summer 2025
While Serie A sides are busy bringing in new additions in the early stages of the summer transfer window, there are still a number of players who are available as free agents following the expiry of their contracts at the end of June.
Here is a hypothetical starting XI of recent Serie A players who remain available as free agents.
Which Serie A players are available as free agents?
A number of high-profile players were released at the end of their contracts last week, particularly at centre-forward: Inter parted ways with Marko Arnautovic for the second time, while Milan did not extend the contract of Luka Jovic.
Inter also parted company with Joaquin Correa at the end of his deal, and he has since gone on to join Botafogo in Brazil. Mario Balotelli has also been let go by Genoa.
A number of regular Serie A midfielders are now also without clubs, including Stefano Sensi, Karol Linetty, Liam Henderson and Nicolas Viola.
A pair of former Milan right-backs are now available to move for free, namely Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi.
Below is a hypothetical starting XI, lined up in a 3-5-2, of the best available free agents in Italy this summer.
(3-5-2): Silvestri; Calabria, Toloi, Dawidowicz; Florenzi, Sensi, Henderson, Linetty, Messias; Jovic, Arnautovic.
