Journalist reveals how much Man Utd will earn from Elanga's blockbuster transfer

0 2

Manchester United are poised for a surprise windfall, courtesy of their Premier League rivals.

Newcastle United are closing in on a blockbuster £55 million deal for Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga, a player who rose through the ranks at Carrington.

Reliable journalist Nathan Salt has now revealed that Man United have a 20% sell-on clause on any profit Forest make from offloading Elanga.

Forest paid £15m to the Red Devils when they snapped up Elanga in 2023, meaning United will record an £8m profit on their books if the 23-year-old completes his move to the Magpies.

That unexpected cash injection could prove timely as INEOS remain locked in talks with Brentford over a move for Bryan Mbeumo.

United have already made two bids, the latest worth £55m plus £7.5m in add-ons, but Brentford are standing firm, demanding over £60m upfront.

Talks have dragged on for over a month, but United may finally have the funds to bridge the gap.

The 25-year-old could be a fantastic addition to Ruben Amorim’s squad. He has thrived in the right number 10 role and could seamlessly adapt to Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 style of play.

With 20 Premier League goals last season, the Cameroon international has outshone Elanga, who managed six goals in comparison.

Given the staggering fee Newcastle are willing to shell out for Elanga, United may view the price tag for Mbeumo as a fair bargain.

United are set to kick off their pre-season preparations next week. Sealing Mbeumo’s transfer in time will be highly beneficial to the head coach and his future teammates.
