Torino President confirms Ricci was ‘pleased to accept’ Milan, reveals replacement
Torino President Urbano Cairo has confirmed that Samuele Ricci is set to become a new Milan player in the imminent future, and has revealed that the Granata are also close to sealing a deal for the Italy international’s replacement.
Cairo confirms Ricci to Milan and Anjorin to Torino
Ricci underwent a medical with Milan on Thursday, which he has since completed, and now all that is missing is a formal announcement from the Rossoneri.
“We satisfied the player, who had a very good journey with us. He had this offer, which he was pleased to accept. We now have an interesting alternative,” Cairo confirmed, reported via La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ricci is set to become Milan’s first new signing of the summer transfer window.
Recent reports suggest that a deal with Torino was struck for an overall package of €25m, made up of a €23m fixed fee and an additional €2m in bonuses and add-ons.
The Italy international is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract running until the summer of 2030, which will earn him somewhere in the region of €2.5m per season in wages.
“It’s normal in the evolution of things,” Cairo said about Ricci’s imminent move to Milan.
“Captains leave, but new, and equally good ones are created. Everyone sells, not just Torino,” he added.
Cairo also confirmed that Torino’s replacement for Ricci will be former Chelsea academy product Tino Anjorin, who spent the 2024-25 season in Serie A with Empoli.
“I’m talking about him because we really are one step away, like for Ricci at Milan,” Cairo said.
“For the rest (of Torino’s transfer targets), there are other things at play and ongoing negotiations, but I want to have more certainties before talking about them. The goal, however, is to give the coach a team that is at least 90% ready before the pre-season training camp.
