Luke Kornet’s Celtics Teammates Shout Out Big Man After Lucrative Deal
Luke Kornet was beloved inside the Boston Celtics locker room, and his former teammates are confirming as much on his way out.
Kornet reportedly agreed to terms on a four-year, $41 million contract with the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. It represents Kornet’s biggest contract, a life-changing payday for the big man who played three seasons in Boston.
Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis were among those thrilled for their former teammate and shared reactions on social media.
“Much deserved,” Tatum wrote on his Instagram story.
Porzingis added: “happy for this guy! one of the best teammates. well deserved Luuukee.”

Kornet isn’t the only one departing Boston, however, Porzingis was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in a cost-cutting move, which helped the Celtics get under the second apron of the luxury tax. Jrue Holiday was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers the day before Porzingis, as well.
Safe to say Celtics fans will see a handful of tribute videos when the Green return to the hardwood for the 2025-26 campaign.
