When Thomas Frank will meet his first Tottenham players as post-Postecoglou era begins
New Tottenham boss Thomas Frank is set to begin face-to-face meetings with his players this week, as the club steps up preparations for the 2025/26 season.
We are now six weeks away from the start of the 2025/26 season, and for Tottenham Hotspur, pre-season preparations are expected to begin soon.
Tottenham’s first pre-season match is scheduled to take place in 18 days, with a clash against Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium set for 3 pm – one of five pre-season games already confirmed.
Tottenham have since appointed Thomas Frank as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, and it has now been revealed when he will officially meet the players for the first time.
Thomas Frank to meet Tottenham players this week
According to Football.London, Thomas Frank is expected to meet his new Tottenham players at the end of this week, as the club looks to ramp up preparations for pre-season.
The players are set to start returning to training at Hotspur Way from the weekend, with many expected back on Saturday.
However, some squad members will return on staggered dates depending on when their holidays began, following last month’s international fixtures.
The Tottenham players likely to report back to the Enfield training base late are those who featured at the U21 and U19 European Championships this summer.
Archie Gray, who won his second trophy in a little over a month after his triumph with England, along with Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert, who both reached the semi-finals with France, are all expected to return later than the rest.
Meanwhile, Mikey Moore and development squad player Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny, both of whom went out in the group stages of the U19 Euros, could also return late.
Spurs boss Thomas Frank already working behind the scenes
Of course, Thomas Frank has already met with a couple of the Tottenham players, particularly those undergoing rehabilitation at Hotspur Way.
James Maddison and Radu Dragusin are among the players the former Brentford boss has spoken to since visiting the club’s training complex a few weeks ago.
With pre-season now on the horizon, the new Spurs boss will have to assess his squad closely, deciding who fits his plans and who might be moved on, while also identifying where he feels the club needs strengthening during the summer window.
