Passionate Jarren Duran Refutes Ridiculous Claim About Red Sox

Jarren Duran is tired of people saying the Red Sox don’t care about winning games.

Boston is currently two games below .500, sitting at a 40-42 record. Before their series against the Los Angeles Angels, they were above .500, but losing to the San Francisco Giants and a sweep by the Angels put them on a five-game losing streak.

With a losing streak, Duran let fans know on the “Section 10” podcast that the team hates all the losing.

“Nobody hates (explicit) losing more than me and the guys on the team,” Duran said. “It just pisses me off sometimes when people think that we don’t (explicit) care because we (explicit) care. When people tell us that we don’t care, and it’s like, what are we supposed to do? Just walk around and mope around because we (explicit) lost? No.”

The 28-year-old had a big season last year but has had a quieter season this year. He is batting .254 with a .307 OBP and five home runs.

Duran says sometimes he gets publicly mad in games because he wants to win ballgames.

“I want to do everything in my power to help the team win,” Duran said. “It may not (explicit) seem like it sometimes, maybe I’m 0-for-4 with three (punch outs), it’s part of baseball, but I want to win. Yeah, I have my crashouts, whatever, all you people saying I crash out all the time. It’s because I want to (explicit) win.”

The outfielder hasn’t been afraid to call out people in the media before for accusing his team of not caring. He’s been very candid about his performance and the way it has affected him in the past.

The Red Sox have a chance to bounce back in their series against the Toronto Blue Jays. The game is set to start at 7:10 p.m. ET and can be streamed on NESN.
