NESN To Celebrate 50th Anniversary Of Red Sox-Reds World Series During Upcoming Fenway Park Series
NESN, New England’s premier sports network, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic 1975 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds with a special retro broadcast and cross-platform content across all NESN-owned and operated channels.
WHAT: NESN will transport viewers back to 1975 with voices from the A.L. pennant-winning team, immersive flashbacks and vintage-inspired broadcast elements. The broadcast team of Dave O’Brien, Lou Merloni and Jahmai Webster will be joined by members of the 1975 World Series team.
The broadcast will be part of a three-day celebration, featuring appearances from special guests, a 1975 Replica Jersey giveaway at Fenway Park (July 2) and more.
WHEN:
— Monday, June 30: Pregame appearance by former Red Sox right fielder Dwight Evans and an “Unobstructed Views” episode on NESN+ featuring former Red Sox center fielder Fred Lynn.
— Tuesday, July 1: Retro Broadcast Game — a throwback viewing experience during the Red Sox game, with retro-styled 3rd and 4th innings.
— Wednesday, July 2: In-game appearance from former Red Sox shortstop Rico Petrocelli.
