Alasdair Gold predicts three Tottenham stars could stay despite links away
Alasdair Gold has revealed that three senior Tottenham men, who have been linked with departures from the club this summer, are likely to remain at Spurs for Thomas Frank’s first season in charge.
There is some uncertainty about what Spurs’ transfer objectives are as they embark on a new era under Frank, with the Dane now looking to sculpt the squad he inherited to suit his approach.
There have been suggestions that Guglielmo Vicario could be offloaded by Spurs while other sources have contradicted this claim, revealing that many at Tottenham expect Vicario to stay.
Atletico Madrid are continuing to try to price Cristian Romero away from Tottenham while there have also been rumours that Pedro Porro is on the radar of some big European clubs.

Gold has now assuaged Spurs fans’ fears, insisting that he would be very surprised if the Lilywhites listen to offers for either Vicario or Porro.
More consequentially, the journalist also suggested that no club has come forward to express a willingness to meet Tottenham’s asking price for Romero.
When asked about the futures of the senior trio, Gold said in a Q&A on Football.London: “I’d be very surprised if Vicario or Porro exited the club this summer, unless something major happens behind the scenes. With Romero, I remain to be convinced that any club will pay the sort of money required to prise him away from Tottenham. We’ll see.”
How much will Tottenham demand for Romero?
Some sources indicate that if Romero does not sign a new contract this summer, Tottenham will be open to selling him for £60m.
However, reports from Spain have previously claimed that Atletico are hoping to sign Romero for under £40m, which means there is a big gap in the valuation of the two clubs.
Over recent days, it has emerged that Diego Simeone is calling Romero every day to convince him, which perhaps suggests that Atletico are hoping that the centre-back will agitate for a move.
