Re: Who was Better?
Dunn was another player, similar to Bryan Hughes, who were playing in the wrong era in the sense that most teams played 4-4-2 and there was very little tactical flexibility and therefore they never really suited a position.
David Dunn nowadays would be a number 10 or off the left in a 4-2-3-1 and be much more effective in my opinion.
Kapo clearly had quality and would have probably been more consistent in a better team but Dunn was a very good footballer.
I spoke to a physio who worked closely with him once upon a time and he said because he’d suffered so much with injuries, it became almost a mental thing where he couldn’t trust his body and would feel niggles even when nothing was wrong. Shame, really.
