Former Spurs coach wants to take Manor Solomon off Tottenham’s hands
Amidst suggestions that Thomas Frank may hand Manor Solomon a Tottenham lifeline, a new report has now claimed that another Premier League side have entered the race for the Spurs winger.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a fabulous campaign on loan at Leeds United, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists to help the Yorkshire club secure the Championship title.
It was widely reported earlier this summer that Leeds would make a permanent move for Solomon ahead of their Premier League campaign.
However, over the last few days, several outlets have claimed that Thomas Frank is prepared to hand Solomon a chance to impress in pre-season.
Tottenham have Manor Solomon interest from Burnley
Former Tottenham and Man United scout Mick Brown, who remains well connected with those who work in the game, has now revealed that Scott Parker wants to take the Israeli international to Burnley.
He explained that the Clarets are in danger of losing some attackers, with the former Spurs academy coach identifying Solomon as someone who can add firepower to his side’s attack ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Brown told Football Insider: “Burnley are now interested in signing Solomon. A few of their better players have been linked with moves away, which is a concern, but they want to strengthen the squad as well. Scott Parker is looking at attacking reinforcements, and he is on their list.
“Of course, the interest from Leeds is there because he had a very successful loan spell with them. Those two aren’t going to be the only interested clubs because of how impressive he was.
“It doesn’t look like he’ll be a regular for Tottenham, so they can provide the opportunity to play regularly in the Premier League which might tempt him to move. From Spurs’ point of view, it will depend on which club makes the best offer.”
What does Solomon want to do this summer?
The former Shakhtar Donetsk man might thus be faced with a choice of whether to remain a bit-part player at Spurs or get regular game time at Leeds or Burnley.
According to some sources, Solomon’s preference would be to remain at Tottenham if Frank sees a first-team role for him.
The winger will thus be keen to catch the Dane’s eye during pre-season, but not all Spurs fans are convinced that keeping Solomon at the club is the right move.
