European club enter the race for Tyler Dibling as Tottenham delay and delay
Tottenham’s pursuit of Tyler Dibling appears to have got even harder as the Lilywhites are now not only facing competition from Premier League rivals for the Southampton man but also from the continent.
Tottenham are facing plenty of competition for Dibling’s signature this summer, which is not surprising, given the fact that the 19-year-old consistently impressed with a struggling Southampton side last season.
Following the Saints’ relegation, it was reported by several sources that Spurs are at the front of the queue to land Dibling, but the winger is not expected to come cheap.
Southampton are demanding as much as £55m for Dibling, with the asking price proving a major stumbling block for Tottenham Hotspur and the winger’s other suitors.
European club join Tottenham in the race for Tyler Dibling
Over recent months, several sources have said that the likes of Man United and Newcastle are Tottenham’s main competitors for Dibling’s signature.
However, Record now claims that the teenager has caught the eye of Porto, who have been very impressed with the Englishman after watching him closely last season.
The Portuguese club are now considering an audacious move for the England Under-21 international as they look to reinforce their forward line.
However, the outlet adds that winning the race for Dibling ‘will not be an easy task’ for the Dragons, given Southampton’s asking price and the competition for his signature.
Have Spurs turned their attention away from Dibling?
The speculation linking the Saints academy graduate with a move to Spurs has gone quiet over the last couple of weeks, with the Lilywhites now seemingly prioritising other wide players.
According to various reports, Tottenham are now battling Man United for Bryan Mbeumo, with the North London club hoping Thomas Frank can persuade the 25-year-old to join him at Hotspur Way.
Several sources have also said that Spurs hold a serious interest in Antonie Semenyo and have already explored a move for the Ghana international.
