Alex Cora Shares Initial Reaction After Red Sox Trade Rafael Devers
Red Sox manager Alex Cora wanted to express his gratitude.
That summed up Cora’s initial reaction after the Boston Red Sox traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants in a stunning blockbuster Sunday evening.
“Gracias @rafael.devers,” Cora captioned a social media post, which included a photo of Devers and Cora after the 2018 World Series.
Cora and the Red Sox capped a series sweep of the New York Yankees on Sunday afternoon and were boarding a plane for a West Coast trip when Boston and San Francisco agreed to terms.
The Red Sox received four players — pitchers Jordan Hicks and Kyle Harrison, outfield prospect James Tibbs III and pitching prospect Jose Bello — in the trade.
Boston opens a three-game series with the Seattle Mariners on Monday night, and Cora almost certainly will provide more insight into how he’s feeling about the trade prior to first pitch.
