Manchester United select two alternatives in case Tottenham win Bryan Mbeumo race

0 3

A new report has shed light on Manchester United’s firm stance regarding a deal for Bryan Mbeumo, and the update will be music to the ears of Tottenham Hotspur, who have stepped up their interest in the Brentford forward over the last few days.

While Spurs have advanced on a deal for the 25-year-old since Thomas Frank’s appointment a few days ago, it appears that the player still prefers joining Man United.

This was confirmed recently by Ben Jacobs, who said that Spurs are willing to offer a bigger fee than Man United for Mbeumo, with the Red Devils yet to improve on their £45m+£10m offer, which was turned down by the Bees.

It has subsequently even been reported that Tottenham have made a £70m offer for Mbeumo as they aim to reunite the forward with Thomas Frank at Hotspur Way.

Manchester United not willing to overpay for Mbeumo

ESPN have now provided an update which suggests that the Red Devils are unlikely to outbid Spurs for Mbeumo.

The report claims that United CEO Omar Berrada has set a predetermined “price point” for the Brentford man and the Red Devils will refuse to bid more than that for the player.

Interestingly, it is asserted that should the Bees demand more than that price point set by United, Rubem Amorim’s men will move on to other alternatives, including Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.

Bryan Mbeumo, Antoine Semenyo and Eberechi Eze are also wanted by Tottenham

This update is very interesting from a Tottenham viewpoint as both Eze and Semenyo have also been heavily linked with a move to N17.

Some outlets over recent days have said that Spurs have done the most groundwork on a deal to land Semenyo from Bournemouth this summer.

It has also been claimed that Thomas Frank has given the green light for Tottenham to land Eze, who has a release clause of £68m in his contract.
