If Thomas Frank had been watching France Under-21s in action in their European Under-21s opener against Spain, one moment that Wilson Odobert produced would have undoubtedly caught the Dane’s eye.
Frank will look to put his imprint on the Tottenham squad he inherited from Ange Postecoglou, and reports indicate that Spurs are expected to be busy in the summer window.
However, the 51-year-old will also believe that he can get better output from some of the players who underperformed last season, with Tottenham confirming that Frank’s ability to develop players is one of the reasons he was hired.
Two young guns, Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert, were in action for France Under-21s in their Euro Under-21s opener against Portugal, and the latter produced one moment which showed he has the attributes to thrive in the new Tottenham head coach’s system.

Odobert started on the right for the French while Tel played on the left, but despite all the attacking flair on show in the game, it was a dull contest, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
While Odobert might not have made much of an impact in the final third, he did show his willingness to track back by making a terrific defensive interception.
After France lost the ball from their corner, the Portuguese counter-attacked with pace and just as a two-on-two situation was developing, the Tottenham winger turned on the afterburners and made a 50-yard sprint to win back possession for his side.
That is exactly the kind of work rate and attitude that Frank will expect from his wingers at Tottenham.
Thomas Frank has told Tottenham what to do with Mathys Tel
While Tel’s future at Spurs is up in the air after the end of his loan spell, sources indicate that a decision has already been made at the North London club about the forward.
It was reported by TEAMtalk a couple of days ago that Frank has given the green light for Tottenham to sign Tel permanently.
According to the update, Frank sees the 20-year-old as a good fit for his dynamic system, while he also values the youngster’s adaptability.
