CEO determined not to pay United tax for 20-goal PL sensation

0 3

Manchester United are determined to shake off the infamous “United tax” under the new regime led by INEOS.

The Red Devils are aggressively pursuing a deal for Bryan Mbeumo, but Brentford have turned down their £55 million bid.

ESPN reports that Man United will refuse to pay beyond CEO Omar Berrada’s predetermined “price point”.

If Brentford play hardball, United have contingency plans in place, with Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze on the radar.

Tottenham Hotspur have named Thomas Frank as their new head coach and have tabled a £70m proposal for Mbeumo.

The 26-year-old favours a move to Old Trafford and is expected to earn a lucrative package of around £175,000 per week at United.

Mbeumo has enjoyed a sensational campaign with the Bees, netting 20 goals and providing eight assists during the 2024–25 season.

Brentford are aware that a major rebuild is on the horizon following Frank’s departure.

Despite Mbeumo having only one year left on his deal, Brentford want to offload their most prized asset for the right price.

United head coach Ruben Amorim sets up his side in a 3-4-2-1 formation.

The dynamic forward fits seamlessly into the right-sided number 10 slot, a position where his creativity and flair could thrive.

Bournemouth have already been raided for several top talents and are in no rush to let Semenyo go without a fight.

The explosive forward has turned heads, but United would need to break the bank to prise him away from the Cherries.

Eze is believed to have a £68m release clause, which could push United to instead focus on Mbeumo and include more performance-related bonuses in their offer to Brentford.
