A possible transfer model that Tottenham Hotspur floated to sign an attacker has not been well received by another club, as discussions continue.

With Thomas Frank at the helm, Tottenham are expected to step up their transfer business and they are already trying to divert Bryan Mbeumo from a move to Manchester United.

At present, Mbeumo is sticking to Manchester United and wants to see the Red Devils agree a deal with Brentford.

Another big transfer question hanging over Tottenham is whether they will keep hold of attacker Mathys Tel.

The French attacker arrived on loan from Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window and Spurs can keep him by triggering a €50m option to buy.

They do not want to do that though and have been speaking to Bayern Munich to try to do a different deal.

According to German daily TZ, Tottenham ‘floated an alternative’ deal to Bayern Munich which would have seen Tel join on loan once again, but with an obligation to buy.

Bayern Munich have not received that idea well and want to sell Tel permanently this summer.

The German giants are also keen to make sure that the deal is done quickly as they want to begin their squad planning.

Tottenham are therefore looking to get Bayern Munich down to between €30m and €35m for Tel, with talks between the two clubs continuing to happen.

It is unclear if Bayern Munich will be willing to play ball at those figures, but the Bavarians do want to sell Tel and were planning his permanent exit from the winter transfer window.

Tottenham managed to see off interest from both Arsenal and Manchester United in the winter transfer window to sign Tel.
