Bryan Mbeumo is now ‘more intrigued’ about joining Tottenham as initial talks begin

0 4

Tottenham’s chances of landing Bryan Mbeumo have reportedly received a massive boost after they officially confirmed the appointment of Thomas Frank as their head coach.

It emerged earlier this week that Spurs were prepared to hijack Man United’s move for Bryan Mbeumo at the insistence of Frank.

Several outlets subsequently played down Tottenham’s chances of winning the race for the 25-year-old, with Man United alleged to be in the driving seat to land Mbeumo.

However, it has now emerged that a move across London to Spurs is very much on the cards for the Cameroon international, with a transfer battle unfolding between the Lilywhites and the Red Devils.

Tottenham have received encouragement in Bryan Mbeumo pursuit

According to Sky Sports, Spurs have now held initial discussions with Brentford over a deal for their star forward.

It is alleged that Mbeumo is more intrigued by a move to Tottenham now that Frank has been confirmed as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement at N17.

In fact, the report says that Tottenham have now ‘received encouragement’ that a deal for the Brentford forward is possible.

It is revealed that Man United’s first offer for Mbeumo was rejected before the Lilywhites began talks to hire Frank, with the Red Devils now expected to make a second offer for the Bees star.

Tottenham have identified Bryan Mbeumo alternative

Sky Sports also back up what we have heard from other sources over recent days by stating that Tottenham also have their eye on Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.

The report claims that the Cherries star is also someone who Spurs ‘admire’, with the North Londoners registering their interest in the player even prior to the sacking of Postecoglou.

Interestingly, the publication adds that Semenyo is also on Man United’s radar. It thus appears whoever misses out on Mbeumo, could turn their attention to the Ghana international.
