Six coaches Thomas Frank could bring with him to Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham’s coaching shake-up continues to take shape as Thomas Frank edges closer to the job – but who are the trusted lieutenants set to follow him into N17? Let’s meet the six potential candidates.
The deal between Tottenham Hotspur and Thomas Frank is currently at its final stages, as reports state that an announcement is expected in the coming days.
Spurs are set to pay Brentford a £10 million release clause to land Thomas Frank, in a deal that would see several other members of the Dane’s backroom staff join him.
But who are these people, and what are their roles? Let us meet the six members of Thomas Frank’s backroom staff who could be making a switch to Hotspur Way this summer (Football London).
Who could join Thomas Frank at Tottenham?
- Kevin O’Connor – A Brentford stalwart with over 500 appearances as a player, O’Connor is currently first team assistant coach, focusing on defensive training and set-piece drills alongside Claus Norgaard and Keith Andrews.
- Justin Cochrane – Once a youth coach at Tottenham, Cochrane is now first team assistant at Brentford and was recently part of Thomas Tuchel’s England coaching team. He is a contender to replace Frank at Brentford but could return to N17.
- Claus Norgaard – A long-time assistant to Frank, having worked with him at Brondby and Denmark’s youth levels. At Brentford, he handles defensive work and is known for his structured, detail-oriented approach.
- Manu Sotelo – Brentford’s goalkeeping coach since 2020, having worked with David Raya, Mark Flekken and Thomas Strakosha. Well-regarded for his technical detail.
- Keith Andrews – Set-piece coach who joined from Sheffield United. A former Sky Sports pundit and midfielder, his work was crucial to Brentford’s threat from set-pieces last season, earning praise for orchestrating quickfire goals.
- Chris Haslam – Head of athletic performance, overseeing physical training, sports science, and specialist integration. His role spans both the first team and B team.
Former Manchester United coach could also join Spurs
It has also been reported that a former set-piece coach of Arsenal, Manchester United and Brentford could be joining Thomas Frank in his move to Tottenham.
Andreas Georgson is a 43-year-old set-piece expert who only just left Manchester United and was also part of the setup at Arsenal.
He could be joining the Lilywhites this summer, as they continue to make a refresh to their coaching team.
Of course, this comes after other members of the coaching staff at Spurs were dismissed following Postecoglou’s departure, including Mile Jedinak, Nick Montgomery and Sergio Raimundo, who have all left the club.
