All-Star Ballots Are Here — These Red Sox Could Hear Their Names Called

Voting has kicked off for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, and a handful of Red Sox players have built compelling cases to join baseball’s best at Truist Park in Atlanta on July 15.

All five names were spotlighted in a recent Boston Herald report by Mac Cerullo, and each could give Boston a strong showing on this year’s All-Star stage.

The name at the top of the list should be obvious to fans: Garrett Crochet. The 25-year-old left-hander has done more than just exceed expectations — he’s dominated. Through his first 13 starts, Crochet led the American League in strikeouts and innings pitched, with a 1.98 ERA and eight quality starts. Even in a crowded field of AL arms, his numbers put him firmly in the conversation to start.

Rafael Devers also looks like a lock. After a very rough April, he has since found his swing and has turned in one of his most productive seasons to date. The veteran slugger leads the AL in RBI and walks and ranks top 10 in several other offensive categories, including OPS, WAR and OBP.

Catcher Carlos Narvaez may not be a household name, but few players in the league have raised their profile more in the first half. The rookie has quietly emerged as one of the best all-around backstops in the league. Offensively, his .809 OPS stands out, and defensively, he ranks near the top in every advanced category.

Wilyer Abreu has cooled a bit at the plate recently, but his resume is still strong. He sits among the WAR leaders at his position and continues to deliver with both the bat and on defense.

Finally, Aroldis Chapman, now 37, remains a fascinating case. His ERA sits below 2.00, he’s still regularly hitting triple digits, and his 103.8 mph fastball in early May remains the fastest thrown by a Red Sox pitcher in the Statcast era. He’ll need to edge out a tough group of AL relievers to make it back.
