Fleet’s Courtney Kennedy Named Team USA U18 Coach
Team USA’s 2026 Under-18 Women’s National Team will be led by Boston Fleet skills coach Courtney Kennedy, USA Hockey announced Wednesday.
USA Hockey head scout Haley Skarupa will join Kennedy as the team’s general manager.
“We’re excited for the coaching staff led by Courtney Kennedy and Haley Skarupa,” USA Hockey director of women’s national team programs Katie Million said in a statement. “Each coach brings a wealth of experience, and we’re looking forward to having them lead the team in January.”
Joining Kennedy on the bench are assistant coaches Shelly Picard, Greg May, Chris Bailey, and goaltending coach Mackenzie Bruch.
Kennedy served as an assistant coach for the 2025 U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team that took home silver at the IIHF World Championship and finished her first season with the Fleet in the PWHL’s sophomore season.
She joined the Fleet after spending 17 seasons as the associate head coach at Boston College, specializing in defense and special teams. In addition to her position with the Eagles, Kennedy helped lead the U.S. National Team to a silver medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
The 2026 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship will take place from Jan. 10-18 in Sydney and Membertou, Nova Scotia.
