Club ready to spend "whatever it takes" to sign Man Utd star - Fabrizio Romano
Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal are determined to sign Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes this summer.
The Portugal international had a fantastic 2024/25 season for the Red Devils, scoring 19 goals and providing 20 assists.
Despite this, the club finished a disappointing 15th in the Premier League and also lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.
United have missed out on at least £86 million after failing to make the league phase of next season’s Champions League.
Al Hilal are eager to capitalise on the situation, and Fabrizio Romano says they are ready to ‘pay whatever it takes’ to land Fernandes.
The Saudi giants are also prepared to meet Fernandes’ wage demands to recruit him ahead of the Club World Cup this month.
Al Hilal had their sights on signing Mohamed Salah after Neymar’s departure.
With Salah’s renewal at Liverpool, Fernandes is the top priority.
Fernandes poised to leave Man Utd in the coming days
The 30-year-old has been a phenomenal player for the Red Devils. He recently won the Club’s Player of the Year award for a fourth time.
Fernandes’ creativity and leadership skills have been admired by the United faithful, but he could be on the move in the next few days.
The playmaker is seriously considering Al Hilal’s proposal on the table.
He recently requested a three-year deal worth £25 million per year with £5-7m in add-ons.
Al Hilal should easily afford the package with their riches. United will receive around £100m, which would boost their summer spending spree.
Fernandes is presently discussing with his family after a week of positive talks with Al Hilal through his representative Miguel Pinho in Saudi.
The United captain looks poised to accept a lucrative move to Al Hilal.
