Man Utd now ready to approve £25-30m sale for 22yo star, Napoli and Inter want him - report

Manchester United are open to parting ways with Rasmus Hojlund for a cut-price fee amid interest from Inter Milan and Napoli, according to Daily Mail.

The Denmark international has had a difficult second season with the Red Devils. Despite being a regular starter, he has netted only four goals in the Premier League.

This has led to speculation regarding his future and Daily Mail claim that United could be prepared to cut their losses on the former Atalanta star this summer.

The 22-year-old was purchased from the Serie A outfit for £72 million in the summer of 2023 but could be permitted to depart for a fee between £25-30m.

United should request a higher fee for Hojlund’s exit

Hojlund had a decent debut campaign in the English top flight. The Dane netted 10 times from 30 games and went on a six-match scoring streak at one point.

It was anticipated that he would carry on and improve his tally this campaign. However, he has failed to meet expectations with four goals from 31 appearances.

Despite this, he is attracting plenty of interest from Serie A. Hojlund scored nine league goals for Atalanta in 2022/23, where he impressed with his direct running.

Hojlund almost scored a world-class goal, running through Lazio’s defence.

The striker could be better suited for Italian football, which is less intense and more tactical. We are not surprised that Inter and Napoli are keen on landing him.

With plans to bring in a new striker, United may have to cut their losses on Hojlund. However, we still believe they should request a higher fee to sanction his sale.

At 22, he has plenty of room for development. Having watched Scott McTominay star for Napoli, United should look for a premium fee of at least £50m for Hojlund.
