New twist hints Fabio Paratici is closer than ever to a Tottenham Hotspur return

0 6

The clearest sign yet of Fabio Paratici’s return to Tottenham has surfaced, with the Italian spotted in one of Spurs’ biggest games amid growing confidence of his reinstatement as sporting director.

The Fabio Paratici transfer saga continues to drag on as the Italian sporting director edges closer to being available for work following his FIFA-imposed ban.

If you have been keeping up with Spurs Web’s coverage of Paratici, you would know that Tottenham Hotspur are now the frontrunners to bring the Italian back into the fold, after a proposed move to Serie A side AC Milan collapsed.

Daniel Levy remains a firm admirer of the former Tottenham director and is understood to be working behind the scenes to facilitate a formal return to N17, with the two still maintaining a cordial relationship.

Paratici’s suspension is due to end on 1 July, concluding the 30-month ban handed down in 2023 for his perceived involvement in financial mismanagement during his time at Juventus.

Fabio Paratici spotted at Man United match in Bilbao as Tottenham return nears

It was reported a few days ago by TuttoMercatoWeb that once Fabio Paratici is free to return to work, he is expected to head back to Hotspur Way.

Now, the same publication is reporting that Paratici’s return to Spurs is imminent, with the biggest indication coming from his appearance in Bilbao on Wednesday.

According to the outlet, the match drew several high-profile guests, among them Paratici, who was spotted in the stands watching the game closely.

This follows earlier reports of Tottenham holding discussions with Fabio Paratici about a potential return in a directorial capacity, once his FIFA-imposed ban concludes in the coming weeks.

TMW also highlighted how Paratici followed proceedings attentively, and noted that nine of the eleven Spurs starters that day were players he had brought to the club.

Fabio Paratici set to make major Spurs managerial decision

It has always been reported that should Paratici return to Hotspur Way, he is set to play a significant role in the appointment of Tottenham’s next manager, particularly after Ange Postecoglou’s poor domestic campaign that has left Spurs languishing in 17th place in the Premier League.

The Australian manager, however, has thrown a spanner in the works by ending Tottenham’s 17-year-long trophy drought with a Europa League triumph, doing so with a squad built largely from Paratici’s acquisitions.

It was recently reported that Fabio Paratici could consider former Ajax boss Francesco Farioli, with two other candidates now considered unlikely.

But with Postecoglou delivering European silverware, it remains to be seen whether the club opts for continuity or change ahead of next season.
