Ex-Bruin Taylor Hall Gives Odd Takeaway From Series Deficit

The Eastern Conference finals have been a dud through two games, but a former Boston Bruins forward isn’t giving up hope.

Brad Marchand and the Panthers took a dominant 2-0 series lead over the Carolina Hurricanes. Florida lit up the scoreboard, and Marchand’s fight with Shayne Gostisbehere was the highlight of the first two games.

But Taylor Hall kept the faith after Thursday’s loss.

“I mean, they just went seven games against the Leafs, right? They’re not a perfect hockey team and we know that there are areas to exploit, like any team,” Hall told reporters, per ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski.

While it’s never wrong to take a shot at the Toronto Maple Leafs, Hall could be reaching with that take.

The Hurricanes looked outmatched, and Hall was an afterthought. They also went down 0-2 at Lenovo Center, and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of optimism for Carolina with the series heading to Amerant Bank Arena.

Things certainly could change as Hall seems to believe. But the Hurricanes will need him and other stars like Sebastian Aho to step up and win at least one game to get momentum in the series on their side.
