Notley: I've Always Wanted To Stay Here

0 1

Ellis Notley reveals she is “delighted” to sign a new contract extension with Hibernian Women which will keep her at the club until 2027!

The 26-year-old openly admits the season has been a challenge personally, with injury struggles troubling the versatile defender towards the end of last year.

However, helping lead the Club to their first domestic cup final since 2022 and a thrilling SWPL title charge has been an overwhelmingly positive experience for the Club Vice-Captain, who has made a key contribution to the team’s excellent form despite her setbacks.

“I'm obviously delighted,” Ellis told HibsTV after signing the new deal. “I've been at the club a long time and it's been a great season so far. I'm happy that I've extended my contract. I've always wanted to stay here.

“I think for me personally it's been one of the toughest seasons, but as a team, it's been unbelievable.

"It's such a good group of girls and a good coaching staff. It's been a great season to be involved in.

“We've had our laughs, we've had our ups, we've had our downs, but there's just a real togetherness. And I think that's translated onto the pitch.”

Joining the Hibs Girls Academy aged 13, Ellis has gone on to make 227 appearances for the Club since making her Hibernian debut in 2016.

Despite the 250-mark within sight, Ellis is more focused on what comes next for the team rather than personal achievements.

“I'd be delighted if I can get to 250 appearances.

"I just enjoy playing for the club, helping the team whenever I can.

“I'm obviously delighted personally that I'm going to be here for another two years, but full focus is on the final game.”
