Mourinho wants Fenerbahce to sign 25yo Man Utd star, £25m deal could be finalised - report

0 7

Manchester United are likely to make several changes to the squad this summer.

The Red Devils are anticipated to sign a marquee striker and an attacking midfielder.

A central defender, a right wing-back and a back-up goalkeeper could also be pursued.

A spending spree could coincide with player sales to balance the financial books.

Turkish outlet Yeni Asir today claim that Fenerbahce are weighing up a permanent bid to sign Jadon Sancho.

Manager Jose Mourinho has already approved the club’s pursuit of the 25-year-old, valued at £25 million.

United poised to part ways with Sancho

Sancho joined Chelsea on loan last summer with a conditional obligation to buy for £25m.

The clause became active after the Blues secured a top-14 finish in the league, but reports claim that the club have decided to pay a £5m penalty fee to cancel the agreement.

Sancho, who has registered just three goals and five assists in the league this season, won’t be short of suitors with interest from Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

Galatasaray are also monitoring his situation. Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce have now joined the hunt. A deal could ultimately depend on the winger and his weekly wage demands.

There is a possibility that all four clubs will be playing Champions League football next term. Leverkusen are the best destination, but Sancho could be tempted to reunite with Dortmund again.

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce seem outsiders in the player’s pursuit. We would be surprised if Sancho chooses to join either of those clubs during the forthcoming transfer window.

Sancho will have ambitions of representing England at next year’s World Cup. For this to happen, he needs to play at the highest level to prove his credentials and earn a recall.
