Athletic Bilbao eyeing a move for talented Man United striker

0 8

Manchester United starlet Victor Musa is on Athletic Bilbao’s radar, according to AS.

They think the talented striker can be a vital player for the club in the future. He fits their recruitment policy, having been born in the Basque region.

However, his dream is to play for United. Athletic must persuade him to leave the Mancunian giants for the club.

Musa has been brilliant for the U18s this season, contributing 13 goals and three assists in the league. He scored a double hat-trick in the record-breaking 13-1 win over Leeds United last month.

James Scanlon is the only United player to have scored more than him in the U18 Premier League this term.

He has also made four appearances for the U21s and was an unused substitute in their victory over Everton in the Premier League 2 play-off round of 16.

Musa has been described as the ‘Lamine Yamal’ of United, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation are reportedly working to convince him to represent the country.

He has previously played for Spain U16s and represented England at the same level.

Musa’s future may lie away from United

While Musa has done well for Adam Lawrence’s side, his future may lie away from Old Trafford.

Other young strikers are ahead of him, which may affect his route to the first team.

Chido Obi, who joined United before him and is a year younger, has already featured at first-team level.

He made his full debut in the defeat at Brentford and has been touted to have a big future at the club.

Ethan Wheatley is also waiting to impress manager Ruben Amorim. He is the 250th academy graduate to play for the United’s first team, having debuted last term.

Wales youth international Gabriele Biancheri is another striker rated highly at the club.

Musa must show remarkable progress to move ahead of others and progress to the first team.
