How much Lucas Bergvall now earns at Tottenham after 333% wage increase
Lucas Bergvall’s new Tottenham contract reveals a staggering wage hike that few would have predicted at the start of the 2024/25 season.
Not even Lucas Bergvall would have believed that his first spell in English football would have gone so well on a personal level.
The Swede did struggle in the early stages of his Tottenham career, but has since grown into his role, becoming a mainstay in Spurs’ midfield.
Forty-five appearances as a 19-year-old coming from the Swedish league is an immense achievement, and one that has rightly earned Lucas Bergvall a new six-year contract extension.
Lucas Bergvall handed a huge Tottenham wage rise in new deal
A Swedish outlet reported earlier this week that Bergvall is set to become one of the highest-paid youngsters in world football.
The publication pointed out that if the midfielder fulfils all the bonuses written into his contract, he will stand to earn a little over £4 million per year.
Capology has now revealed exactly how much Lucas Bergvall is set to earn after putting pen to paper on 29 April.
According to the outlet, the Swedish youngster is now on a £65,000-per-week wage, a fee that would see him earn £3,380,000 a year.
That is a staggering 333% increase from his previous wage, which saw the midfielder earn £15,000 per week and £780,000 a year.
Contract Period | Weekly Wage | Annual Salary | % Increase |
---|---|---|---|
Previous Deal | £15,000 | £780,000 | – |
New Deal (2025) | £65,000 | £3,380,000 | 333% |
Bergvall’s breakthrough a rare bright spot for Spurs
Bergvall’s emergence this season has been one of the few silver linings for Tottenham in what has been a bleak campaign.
Indeed, the midfielder would have hoped to take to the field for Tottenham in their UEFA Europa League semi-final and potential final ties, but Bergvall has since picked up a season-ending injury.
Silverware would be a fitting way to cap off what has been an impressive individual season for the teenager, and with Tottenham so close to a European final, the hope is that his teammates see it through.
Speaking on his long-term ambition after signing his new deal, Bergvall said: “It is a club with great ambitions, I am really enjoying being here and playing for this amazing football club.
“Short-term, Europa League. Of course, the goal is to win everything. And that is what we try to do. Now we go on Thursday.”
